The Dance Element Takes The Court!

GAME DAY ENERGY
We had the best time performing at halftime of the women’s and men’s basketball games at Johnson County Community College on January 31st. It was such a fun way to bring our competition season into a new space and share it with a live daytime crowd. Seeing our dancers take the floor under the bright arena lights, full of focus and excitement, made the whole afternoon feel electric. Moments like these remind us how much we love representing our studio and connecting with our local community.
Performing at events like this gives our dancers valuable stage time to rehearse and refine their competition routines while also stepping outside the studio to perform for others. We love watching them rise to the moment, build confidence, and share the work they have poured their hearts into. Opportunities like this help our dancers grow not just as performers, but as leaders who proudly represent TDE wherever they go.
We’re so thankful to Johnson County Golden Girls for inviting us to be part of such an exciting day, and to everyone who cheered us on from the stands. Thank you for supporting our dancers and giving them the chance to shine both on the competition stage and in our community.
TDE Lights the Tree!

SHINING BRIGHT
We had the best time performing at this year’s Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting in Basehor, and it was such a special way to kick off the holiday season with our community. Seeing our students shine outdoors under the twinkle lights, bundled up and excited, made the whole evening feel magical. Moments like these remind us how much we love supporting our studio’s hometown and being part of traditions that bring everyone together.
Performing at this event gives us a chance to celebrate our dancers beyond the studio walls, and we love watching them light up while connecting with the community around them. Experiences like this help our dancers feel proud, confident, and excited to share what they’ve been working on. It’s these joyful performances that make our studio feel like a true piece of Basehor and deepen the connection we have with the families who support us.
We’re so thankful to the organizers of the Christmas Tree Lighting for inviting us to take part, and to all the families who bundled up and cheered our dancers on. Thank you for helping us kick off the season in such a meaningful way. We hope the performances brought as much holiday spirit to you as they did to us!

TRICKS AND TREATS!
We had an incredible time celebrating Halloween Week at the studio, and it was such a joy to see dancers of all ages show up with so much spirit and creativity. All week long, students were invited to wear their costumes and even bring a friend to class, which made the studio feel extra lively. We saw the cutest princesses, the scariest monsters, Labubu characters, and even some amazing throwback costumes from past years. Every class was filled with laughter, photos, and so many fun moments that reminded us why we love this tradition so much.
This week gives us a chance to see our dancers express themselves in a totally different way, and we love watching their personalities shine while they learn, play, and connect with each other. Experiences like this help our dancers feel comfortable, confident, and excited to be part of our studio family. It’s these positive, joy-filled moments that make our studio feel like a special place where everyone belongs.
We’re so thankful to our dancers and families for helping make Halloween Week such a success, and we hope your kids had just as much fun as we did. Thank you for supporting our studio and helping us create memories that will last well beyond this spooky, silly, wonderful week!
TDE Loves a Parade!

♛ HOMECOMING PARADE FUN ♛
We had an incredible time being part of this year’s Basehor Homecoming Parade on Thursday night. It’s always a highlight of our fall season to march alongside the community and represent our studio with pride! So many of our students participated this year, and it was a joy to see dancers of all ages waving, smiling, tossing candy, and dancing their way down the streets of Basehor. Our decorated trailer was filled with excited students and staff, and the crowd’s energy made it such a memorable night for everyone involved.
This tradition gives us a chance to showcase our students beyond the stage, and we love watching them light up while interacting with our community. Events like this help our dancers feel connected, confident, and proud of where they come from. It’s these moments that make our studio feel like a true part of Basehor.
We’re so thankful to the organizers of the Homecoming Parade for allowing us to be part of this celebration, and to the families who helped make it all happen — from decorating the float to cheering from the sidelines. TDE Celebrates Dairy Days

🐄 DAIRY DAYS PERFORMANCE 🐄
We had such a wonderful time performing at this year’s Dairy Days celebration in Basehor. Our dancers brought back some of the crowd favorites from last season, dancing on the “Dairy Days Stage” (actually in the street!) It was inspiring to see our students shine in front of the community, and we loved sharing the fun and spirit of dance with such a supportive audience. This event has become a tradition for our studio, and each year we look forward to being part of this hometown celebration.
Our dancers have already started working on next season’s dances, so it’s always a challenge to shift gears and revisit last season’s choreography, but our dancers are such professionals that they (literally) didn’t miss a beat! The TDE dancers gave it their all, and the smiles in the audience reminded us how special it is to perform for our neighbors and friends. We are so grateful to the organizers of Dairy Days for including us, and to all the families and community members who came out to cheer, clap, and support our dancers.
Your encouragement means so much, and it is a highlight of our season to perform for you. Thank you for celebrating with us, and we cannot wait to be back again next year!
A Fantastic First Week

🩰 FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES FUN 🩰
We had such a fantastic first week of classes, filled with energy, excitement, and so many smiling faces. It was wonderful to welcome back our returning dancers, meet new students for the very first time, and see the studios come alive with music, movement, and laughter. The start of a new season always brings a special kind of joy, and this year was no exception. Watching the dancers settle into their new classes and connect with their teachers reminded us why the first week is one of the most special times of the year.
From our tiniest Creative Movement dancers to our advanced students, the dedication and enthusiasm were inspiring. The energy in every studio was contagious, and it was clear how much our dancers are ready to learn, grow, and challenge themselves this season. We cannot wait to see the progress that comes with consistent training, teamwork, and the love of dance that fills our community.

Dancing Into the New School Year

🌟 BACK TO SCHOOL BASH FUN 🌟
We kicked off the new season with a great afternoon at the Back to School Bash, hosted by our neighbors at The Flower Bar & Boutique. Our dancers performed right in front of The Dance Element, turning the parking lot into a space full of music, movement, and community spirit. It was a perfect way to come together after summer break and get excited for the year ahead.
The event brought so many smiling faces to our corner of the neighborhood. Families stopped by to watch the performances, chat with friends, and enjoy the back-to-school energy. We loved seeing our dancers share what they’ve been working on and feed off the encouragement from everyone gathered. It was a reminder of how much our dancers mean to this community and how much joy they bring whenever they perform.
A big thank you to The Flower Bar & Boutique for including us, and to all who came out to support our dancers. We wish all of our dancers a fantastic back to school season and can’t wait for fall classes to begin soon. If you haven’t yet, be sure to secure your spot as classes are filling quickly. TDE Making A Splash!

☀️ END-OF-SEASON POOL PARTY FUN ☀️
We wrapped up our season with a splash at the Bonner Springs Aquatic Center, where our dancers and families came together for an evening of fun, laughter, and connection. The pool party, generously provided by our amazing Booster Club, was a perfect chance to celebrate all that our dancers have accomplished before kicking off a new year. Thanks to parent donations, there were plenty of drinks and snacks to keep everyone energized for two hours of swimming, sliding, and soaking up the summer sun.
One of the best things about TDE is how much our dancers and families enjoy spending time together, both inside and outside of the studio. The whole evening was filled with joy, from poolside conversations to spontaneous splash contests. The biggest laughs of the night definitely came from the dads, who turned the diving board and slides into their own stage with a series of cannonballs and dramatic landings that had everyone cheering.
We’re so thankful for our supportive Booster Club and the families who help make moments like this possible. It was a perfect way to close out the season and gear up for Jumpstart, our two-week choreography intensive that launches us into another exciting year.

🎉 The Dance Element just turned TWO! 🎉
On Wednesday, we celebrated two amazing years of dance, growth, laughter, and community. What started as a dream has become something even more special than we could have imagined. As our owner, Lacey Chesser, said, “It’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of and more.” This studio was built with heart, and every dancer, teacher, and parent who has stepped through our doors has helped shape it into what it is today.
Over the past two years, we’ve watched dancers find their confidence, discover their passion, and grow not just as performers, but as people. We’ve cheered each other on through rehearsals, competitions, and recitals. We’ve celebrated the big moments and the quiet victories. Through it all, one thing has remained constant – our commitment to creating a positive, uplifting space for every dancer who calls The Dance Element home.
We are so thankful to our incredible staff, our dance families, and the community that continues to support us. Your encouragement means more than we can say. Thank you for being part of this journey. We can’t wait to see what the next year brings.

We’re so excited to welcome you to the brand-new online home of The Dance Element. This site has been thoughtfully redesigned to better serve our dance families and showcase the energy, creativity, and heart of our studio. You’ll find everything from updated class info and upcoming events to photo galleries and news, all in one place!
We just wrapped up Session One of our summer classes, and it was a blast. Our dancers worked hard, had fun, and made real progress in their technique and confidence. From preschoolers discovering their love of dance to experienced students refining their skills, every class was filled with great moments. We’re proud of what our dancers accomplished and so grateful to all the families who joined us.
If you didn’t make it to the first session, we’d love to see you for Session Two, which starts July 9. This session is a perfect time to stay active, keep learning, and prepare for the upcoming fall season. We’ll be focusing on building strength, refining technique, and continuing to support our dancers as they grow both on and off the stage.
If your dancer is interested in joining company this year, now is the time to reach out. Please contact Miss Lacey as soon as possible to discuss requirements and placement. We’re getting close to finalizing the team and want to make sure every interested dancer has a chance to be considered.
